The Elegance of a White and Gold Flower Cake: A perfect blend of Beauty and Sophistication
A white and gold flower cake is a stunning dessert that combines two timeless colors-white and gold-with delicate floral designs to create a masterpiece that is both elegant and sophisticated. This cake would be perfect for a wide range of occasions, from weddings to birthday celebrations or even a special treat for an anniversary. This cake would truly make a statement at any event.
I was recently made this cake for a special Nana on her 70th birthday. This design really is elegant.

To create this cake took lots of preparation. The flowers needed to be made ahead of time as they needed time to harden so they would old the shape. Everything on this cake was edible except for the wires that we used to make the leaves branches.
To create these flowers and leaves these are the cutters I purchased.

Each flower was cut out of fondant which I mixed in some CMC powder to help harden the flowers faster. The flower centers were gold dragees or fondant that was painted gold.

You will also need lots of space to let the flowers dry, to help hold the shape I used these flower Cups in multiple sizes and variations. I want the flowers petals to lay in different directions. These are the different ones I used:

I would suggest making the flowers at least 2 days in advance. Also when placing the flowers on the cake I would suggest using piping gel to attach the flowers but be gentle because the flowers are fragile.
The 70 topper was also made from Fondant and painted with edible gold dust which I added vodka to in order to air brush the color on. I purchased the gold from Shine Dessert Glitter.
Overall, this cake came together very well. It was a lot of fun to create and I truly believe that the White & Gold theme would work for so many occasions, and I am hoping this Nana LOVED it!!!
