Sesame Street has been a beloved children’s show for over 50 years, bringing joy and learning to generations of fans. Its colorful characters, catchy songs, and memorable lessons have earned a special place in our hearts. And now, Sesame Street-themed cakes are becoming a popular choice for birthday parties, baby showers, and any celebration where fun, laughter, and a little bit of nostalgia are needed!
I have made numerous Sesame St themed cakes. Between the vibrant colors and the iconic characters there are so many options. The cake could be just one character or multiple characters, you can choose to have the sesame street sign on top. You could make cupcakes and cake pops. I have yet to make Sesame St themed cake pops. Really there is so many options with Sesame St.
These are just some of the Sesame St cakes I have made in the past. These are the buttercream cakes I created.

If you wanted, you could just do a character topper with primary colors for the cakes tiers and add shapes, letters, or numbers.

Classic fondant cakes with multiple characters is also a great option when you can’t choose just one.

To create the characters, I used my Cricket to create templates. Yes, this was time-consuming, but I think when you see each character, it was totally worth it. I didn’t have to worry about the characters’ proportions being off, and overall, I feel like it made an impact. Here is a closer look at some of the characters.

Sesame Street cakes bring joy, nostalgia, and creativity to any celebration. I think these cakes capture the fun and whimsy of characters like Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird. From simple cupcakes to elaborate fondant masterpieces, the possibilities are endless. No matter the design, a Sesame Street cake is sure to bring smiles and sweet memories to everyone involved.
